I have eaten here since the place opened and I have never had a bad experience. I booked a table this time right along the water. I ordered a ribeye and a salad and the ribeye was cooked to perfection. I got rice and I wish I could make rice as good! Wish I knew your secret. Thank you for always providing a memorable experience. Three generations of my family have been eating here. You are just the best steakhouse in the whole area!
We love the salad bar. The steaks were made perfectly. I absolutely recommend The Peddler Steakhouse, but make sure you make reservations or you may not get a table.
Nice steakhouse with salad bar. We were on vacation in the area and steakhouses are our first choice. Reserved a table with river view at 6:15pm. It was definitely the early bird crowd, lots of older folks. The salad bar is nice, but I enjoy prepared summer salads like potato salad or macaroni salad on a salad bar and there are none of those. The “steak peddler” is a cute touch, but since he’s only got 2 types of steaks and is rolling them around on a cart throughout the restaurant it was kind of a turn-off to me considering hygiene and temperature. The rolls were warm, which is a nice touch, but they were the exact same rolls we had at an area dinner/show place the night before. Same vendor I’m sure, but I’d love to see something more high end or homemade at a pricey steakhouse. I ordered green beans with my steak, they were clearly frozen. Again at a pricey steakhouse I would have preferred fresh produce.
We did not make reservations and were seated immediately in the upstairs, first-come-first-served lounge area at a corner table with a beautiful view overlooking the river. The menu options are the same as the downstairs eating area, and service is the same quality minus a “steak peddler”. As I knew what steak I wanted, that was not an issue. Waiter was helpful and polite. Their tap was not working at the time but the beer came frosty and with a cold glass. Filet was EXCELLENT...Meat candy that melted in my mouth. Cheese bites were tasty, as well!
Amazing service, amazing steaks, amazing salad bar. My husband and I split the king sized filet mignon, and added an extra salad bar. We also added the grilled onions, but neither of us ended up eating much of those (and we're onion lovers!) because the steak is perfect on its own, and the onions detract from the flavor of the actual steak. I had two salad bar plates, because it's unlimited, which was a thrill for me since I absolutely love a salad bar, and this one is truly superior. The service was so good, they cut my kids' steaks for them too! We ate here on family vacation for spring break, so we probably won't make it back, but it was a great treat night out. We also found great spots for family photos out back by the river, which was lovely.
Went for Honeymoon dinner! What an amazing experience, and they treated us to a lovely candle lit dinner! The salad bar was great, and fresh bread! Kimberly was a great server, very attentive and kept the glasses filled. Next we had a hand cut steak, cut right on front of us. My wife got the filet mignon and it melted in your mouth! Finally the cheesecake and creme brulee were well worth it to finish off a 5 star dining evening. Highly recommend, and thank you for making our honeymoon celebration amazing!
One word....... perfection ! We made a reservation for river table and it was a great table overlooking the river. The staff were all fantastic the service was excellent. The salad bar was amazing, the steak was cooked perfectly. Absolutely brilliant way to end our stay here.
First time at the Peddler, we were extremely impressed with the atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door you can tell it is a very well ran establishment. I would recommend getting reservations like we did. I've known of people driving three hours one way just to eat here and then head back home. Now to the important part, the food. If you order the New York Strip like I did they will cut your steak in front of you at your table. You also get a salad bar with your entree and the selection was wonderful. Steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. Even the steak fries, which normally I am not a huge fan, were some of, if not the best I have ever had. Very tasteful seasoning on those as well. Service was prompt and fast, if my drink was empty it wasnt empty very long. All of this to say, if we are in Gatlinburg again, the peddler will be top of the list to visit again. Highly recommend
